WAGENFELD LEVINE ADDS LEADERSHIP TO ST. LOUIS OFFICE EXPERIENCED LOCAL LITIGATOR JOINS FIRM
ST. LOUIS, MO. (June 11, 2007) -- Experienced litigator David
Cooper has joined the St. Louis law office of Wagenfeld Levine.
Cooper will handle general liability, including arson, fraud, first-party insurance coverage
and employer liability.
“David has extensive experience, especially investigating and defending insurance claims,” said
Ed Levine, who is the firm’s Managing Partner. “He’s handled
hundreds of cases, but what
attracted our Partners to David was his natural leadership abilities, which will serve our
regional clients well.”
Cooper has years of experience investigating and defending insurance claims involving arson
and fraud. He also has experience with toxic torts, which is a strength of the firm. His
work with environmental law, especially with toxic mold, respiratory disorders and skin
diseases, brings additional strength to Wagenfeld Levine.
A former police sergeant in North St. Louis County, Cooper has worked alongside the Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Secret Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and
the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in his career. He continues to work with
law enforcement while defending insurance claims where criminal investigations are initiated.
A recognized and well-known speaker, Cooper has been a guest speaker for the National Society
of Professional Insurance Investigators, International Association of Arson Investigators,
International Association of Special Investigative Units, and International Association of
Independent Claim Adjusters. He's also addressed the Greater St. Louis Claims Association
on a variety of legal topics, and he has provided in-house training to claim offices of numerous
insurance companies on legal issues in first-party claim handling.
Cooper received his B.A. from Cooper University of Missouri-Columbia (1988) and an M.A. from
Webster University (1992), before getting his J.D. from the St. Louis University School of Law
(1998).
